I had a few colors, but picked the June Bug Plubber Worm since there was a little bit of sun left. I wanted something to shimmer. I rigged it up on a zoom horny toad hook, which worked perfect.
So I head out to one of my best spots and start casting.
I’m keeping it just below the surface, with a steady retrieve, just to let the tail do the work. After about 6 minutes of casting, I look away and close my eyes while stretching, and bam!
Not BAM, because it wasn’t a real slam of a hit, and I set the hook. It didn’t feel too big, until it jumped. WHOA! That’s when my blood started going. This thing is big!
I tighten up my drag and work him, yet he still jumps 2 more times! Yikes. I finally get it to shore and WOW! A personal best 24″ 9lb Largemouth bass. All I can say is, this thing works. Thanks Capt. Skip!

“These worms are different than any other made in the angling world. If you are a serious Bass fisherman they are a must have” Jason Arles
There will be many times when the bass just won’t hit on the fall. Be patient and let the new technology 8″ Plubber worm come still on the bottom. The tail of the plubber worm is always in live action as the sonic tail will float up from the bottom even while at rest.
Then you can work the lure using a very slow, twitch and fall technique we have talked about in past videos.
Remember to stay focused and always keep a slight tension on the line.
Learning how to recognize between the feel of the bottom and the feel of a fish is a technique you will want to master. The good news? You’ll have to practice. 🙂
Fishing the plubber worm in this manner is a very effective way to catch large mouth bass in many different conditions and will serve you for years to come.
Tips For Fishing Dark Cloudy Vs. Clear Water
Use a darker color bait when fishing in dark water or on cloudy overcast days. Dark dense colors are the rule adding better visibility for large mouthed bass. The June bug plubber is very effective in these conditions. While fishing in clearer water, lighter, more translucent colors seem to work best.
